Out Now - Try our improved New Learner process

Our latest PICSWeb development cycle has just been released, featuring some important changes.

We will release a blog post covering the rest of the changes next week, but in the meantime, please take a look at the new features below as they may affect your PICSWeb use.

New Learner Beta

Our much-improved new learner process is now out for you to try, with the old process still available if necessary. We are aiming to have the old process fully replaced soon after the 7th December 2021. Please have a go with the new process and do let us know if you have any feedback.

Unlike the old process, the new one is made up of two separate sections. The first allows you to enter some basic personal and programme details, check for any matching records, and save the learner with a Partial Entry status.

You can then return to the learner whenever you are ready to enter the full set of details. You can leave this section at any time and return with all previously entered data saved. We expect this new process to allow for much quicker and more convenient learner data entry.

The new process can be accessed by selecting Actions > Create (Beta) from the learner list (the original process will be available until 7/12/2021 via Actions > Create). Full guidance is available in our Online Help Database, and our Free Learner Management Course has been updated to reflect the changes.

We have changed our mail provider

We are now using Postmark for all emails generated from PICS, such as user invitations, password resets and form notifications.

You should not experience any changes in your PICSWeb use, though if any issues do arise, please contact our support team to let us know and we will aim to resolve them as soon as possible.

Changes to the QAR Report

We have improved our interactive Qualification Achievement Rates (QAR) report to improve visualisation of your QARs.

These changes will not apply to any existing saved QAR reports - you will need to recreate these reports before they can be viewed with the new display.

The overall QAR summary for each year will now be shown by default when you open the interactive report.

We have also added several predefined Chart Types, allowing for analysis at the click of a button.

You will also be able to export data from the breakdown window into a spreadsheet.
