Change to how expected end date is recorded for apprenticeship standards

For learners undertaking a Standard with a start date after 1st August 2019, the ESFA no longer require you to include the End Point Assessment when calculating the Programme Aim Expected End Date. In order to simplify things, we’ve updated the way we collect this information.

Starting with PICS, when you enter a new learner, you’ll see boxes for the Programme Aim Expected End and EPA Expected End. You only need to enter an EPA Expected End for a Standard, and you’ll receive a warning if the two dates are the same. We use these dates to populate the ILR Programme Aim and PICS Episode expected end dates.

When generating dates from Qualification Plans, qualifications marked as ‘Not Reported’ or ‘Non funding body’ are not used to calculate the Learning Expected End but are used to calculate the EPA Expected End.

We’ve also added a new field, “LRN_EXPEND”, for use in Form Capture Manager and the CSV Importer.
